Medical regulation is failing doctors and the public. It's time the Government acted.

Add your name to our register calling for radical reform. Your details will remain confidential.

The GMC's regulatory framework is outdated and broken. Doctors and patients deserve better.

For too long, the GMC's decision making has let down the profession and put patients at risk. It has failed to deliver compassionate regulation, with doctors living in fear of referral.

Over the concerns of doctors, it has created a system where patients are no longer clear if they're being treated by a doctor or not. Doctors deserve a regulator that has a duty of care towards then, that respects the medical profession, and fully protects patients.

The Government must introduce radical reform to give doctors and patients a regulator that:

  • Puts the medical profession at the heart of its decision making
  • Protects patients by making clear who is and who is not a doctor
  • Treats doctors fairly throughout fitness to practise processes
  • Ensures doctors – and their patients – benefit from high-quality medical education and training

If you agree, add your name to the BMA's register -- ALL doctors can sign.

All details will be kept confidential and signing does not affect your GMC registration.
